It’s All About Men’s Streetwear Brands Right Now

Forget women’s fashion – it’s men’s clothes that are enjoying a bit of a boom right now. Research from the British Fashion Council shows that the market actually grew by 4.1 per cent last year, peaking at £14.1 billion – up from the 13.5 billion seen the year before and comparing favourably to the 3.7 per cent growth womenswear saw.

Over the next five years, menswear is expected to grow by 22.5 per cent and it looks like the internet is doing a lot to fuel this growth. Apparently, 59 per cent of men have sought out streetwear brands online and made purchases via the web in the last 12 months.

In fact, between 2010 and 2015, there was a 17.4 per cent growth in online sales of menswear, which outpaced all other categories. Mintel figures from last year also show that 27 per cent of men who shop prefer to buy British shoes, clothes and accessories.
